“N” gifts

November 3, 2012

Today’s joy dare is to figure out 3 gifts of thanks beginning with the letter N!!! So, here we go. Please add to my list in the comment section:)

1. My niece is healthy and growing in her mommy’s belly. I can’t wait to see her face.

2. Living on a street where I know all my neighbors. Such a blessing. I will never take it for granted.

3. The tall tree down the street with no more leaves that has a bird’s nest delicately placed on top. The Shepherd’s eyes are on the sparrow, and I know he watches me!

good reads

October 14, 2012

I’m a bookworm. I have probably written about what makes me like a good book, whether it be fiction or nonfiction. But, it’s on my mind right now, so I will say it again. I love a good, emotional story I can immerse myself in and feel like I know the characters. I love strong, solid books that lead me to my Shepherd. Most of all, the books I read that cause me to put them down so I can open my Bible are the ones that stick with me. Here are some authors who accomplish this for me…check them out!

Lynn Austin
Neta Jackson
Terri Blackstock
Jerry Jenkins
Ted Dekker
Ann Voskamp
Linda Dillow
Brennan Manning
Brother Lawrence
Francis Chan

(I am sure I have left some out. I will add as I remember)

*Who would you add to my list?

Must have app

February 19, 2012

If you have any device with an “i” in front of it, you must download the One Thousand Gifts app. Quite a while ago I read Ann Voskamps book of the same title and started my thanks journal. What could be more fun than keeping a thanks journal on my iPad and documenting video and pictures as I go thru my day?? So exciting!!! I think this app has been out for a while…I’m just slow 😜
